Experience

During my time in secondary education I participated in an initiative that aspired to help younger students improve their reading ability. This took the form of meeting a student weekly and listening them to read a book of their choice, aiding them in any difficulties they encountered - whether that be pronunciation, unknown words, or pacing. The aim of this scheme was to ignite students' passion for literature, while improving their ability to read and subsequently, hopefully also improving their studies in literature-related subjects.

I am a charismatic yet easy-going graduate that is eager to continue applying, exploring, and sharing my passion for literature. Having always been a fervent reader, I’ve read a wide variety of literature both inside and outside education that has spanned all time periods, forms, and genres. Such a broadening of knowledge has subsequently spurred my own creative interests, which has recently taken the form of writing a novel that I am currently in the process of producing. I also perceive myself as a sociable, interactive, and approachable person, whether that be with family, friends, or just about anybody. I’m always more than willing to engage in conversation and aim to make people feel comfortable and at ease. Outside of literature, I am also a music enthusiast, having an eclectic taste and listening to just about all genres of music, of all eras. When I can, I attend concerts and festivals, and have recently begun my own vinyl collection, which has come in very useful when I cook daily for my family, another pastime I thoroughly enjoy.
